Institut Universitari de Recerca en Sostenibilitat, Canvi Climàtic i Transició Energètica (IU-RESCAT)

Research Institute in Sustainability, Climate Change and Energy Transition

IU-RESCAT is a research institute aimed at coordinating and enhancing the efforts of the URV (Universitat Rovira i Virgili) to promote, through research, knowledge transfer, and teaching, the achievement of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Particularly, it seeks to address the challenges of climate change and energy transition, which are essential to face the dynamics of a changing world.

IU-RESCAT aims to gather, foster, and coordinate the activity of excellent researchers dispersed in existing structures. This will generate economies of scale, allow for the convergence of research areas and facilitate multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary collaboration, which is essential for addressing the SDGs. Furthermore, this approach will improve the efficiency of invested human and material resources and multiply results. The research of the Institute will align with national and international strategies and will increase and internationalize the visibility of the URV brand.
