Mission
The University Institute for Research in Sustainability, Climate Change, and Energy Transition (IU-RESCAT) has as its principal mission to excel in research focused on crucial issues for 21st-century society, such as sustainability and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda. This mission involves addressing climate change and promoting new forms of energy. IU-RESCAT conducts multidisciplinary research at various territorial scales to contribute to knowledge and solutions related to sustainability and the transition to a more sustainable energy economy.
Vision
The vision of IU-RESCAT is to become a reference centre at the national, state, and international levels in scientific advice and knowledge transfer in the areas it addresses. It also seeks to promote knowledge in sustainability, climate change, and energy transition through excellence in higher education and capacity development.
